In a time where fires could start in an instant, floods could happen with just little downpour, and accidents can occur at any second, safety and disaster readiness is now more important than ever.
To help prepare the residents of Barangay Tagjaguimit and Mainit in the City of Naga from disasters, Visayan Electric Kaibigan Batch 4, in partnership with the VECO Employees Multipurpose Cooperative (VEMCO), launched the Barangay C.A.R.E. Project on June 12.
Through this project, essential emergency and medical supplies, including wheelchairs, fire extinguishers, oxygen sets, and digital blood pressure monitors were donated to help improve the barangays’ response capabilities.
Additionally, a Basic Safety Orientation was also conducted by the Visayan Electric Safety Officer on site. The orientation equipped the residents and local officials with life-saving knowledge and disaster readiness skills.
This initiative underscores Visayan Electric’s continued commitment to disaster preparedness, not just within the company but in the community as well.
