CIT-U students share power research in mock defense with Visayan Electric

Selected electrical engineering students from the Cebu Institute of Technology – University presented their group studies to Visayan Electric through a mock defense yesterday, as part of the ongoing research collaboration between the two institutions.

Four groups from CIT-U discussed topics on electric vehicles, transformer monitoring, harmonics mitigation, and fault detection.

This activity is part of the research collaboration established last year, which aims to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical industry applications.

Throughout the collaboration, Visayan Electric engineers have guided the students from planning to presentation. Following the mock defense, the students will proceed to their final defense at their university to complete and publish their research papers.

The completed theses may then be utilized by Visayan Electric for practical application and further development.
