In recent years, traffic has worsened in Cebu City, especially on main roads. This has been a burden on so many commuters who lose precious time being stuck in traffic, time that could have been spent on something productive.
Last May, in celebration of Labor Day, Visayan Electric honored the dedication of hardworking Cebuanos who help ease traffic by biking to work.
Through its Pedal to Thrive project, the Kaibigan Batch 8, in partnership with Bikes for the Philippines Foundation and Veco Employees Multipurpose Cooperative (VEMCO), provided road cyclists with new, road-worthy bicycles in exchange for their old ones, supporting both their daily commute and a more sustainable future.
This initiative underscores Visayan Electric’s commitment to promoting safety not only within the company but also on public roads. Moreover, it highlights the company’s advocacy for environmental preservation by encouraging clean and sustainable modes of transportation.
