Project UMA: Visayan Electric supports farmers through Father’s Day livelihood project

Farmers work year-round to sustain their families and help feed their communities. However, the rising cost of agricultural inputs continues to place financial pressure on their livelihoods, limiting opportunities to increase productivity and income.

In response to this, Visayan Electric employee-led initiative Kaibigan Batch 7, in collaboration with the VECO Employees Multipurpose Cooperative (VEMCO), turned over agricultural supplies to the Hilltop Farmers Association in Barangay Sinsin, Cebu City through Project UMA: Unlocking More Sustainable Agriculture on Saturday, June 27.

The initiative sought to help reduce the farmers’ out-of-pocket expenses by providing essential farming supplies, including high-yield vegetable seeds, fertilizers, crop protection products, and farm hardware to support vegetable production.

Through Project Green-Sprout, Visayan Electric and VEMCO reaffirm their commitment to creating meaningful and sustainable impact by supporting local livelihoods and empowering farming communities across their service areas.
