Visayan Electric, in partnership with the VECO Employees Multipurpose Cooperative (VEMCO), turned over construction materials for the total rehabilitation of Lusaran Elementary School’s handwashing station.
Lusaran Elementary School, located in Barangay Lusaran, a mountainous barangay in the city of Cebu, sustained critical damage during the onslaught of Typhoon Tino last year. While classrooms remained mostly intact, the school’s handwashing facility, which plays a critical role in the wellness and hygiene of the students, was totally damaged.
In response, Visayan Electric’s Kaibigan Batch 1 initiated the Project LuWash: Handwashing Station for Lusaran Elementary School. Through the initiative, construction materials such as hollow blocks, gravel, and cement were donated to support the rebuilding of the facility and help restore a safe and functional space for students.
This initiative underscores Visayan Electric’s consistent commitment to creating a safe environment for the students and teachers of Cebu
