Visayan Electric spearheads digital health onboarding project to 25,000 Liloan residents

LILOAN, Cebu — Visayan Electric has partnered with the Aboitiz Foundation, Inc., CareSpan Asia, Inc. (CareTech Health), and the Municipal Government of Liloan to officially launch the Visayan Electric-Supported PhilHealth YAKAP Patient Onboarding Project known as YAKAPinoy.
The initiative champions YAKAP (Yaman ng Kalusugan Program para Malayo sa Sakit), PhilHealth’s national primary care benefit package. This crucial program empowers members and their beneficiaries with free access to essential healthcare services, including medical consultations, medicines, laboratory tests, and health screenings, at accredited local facilities.
While the Municipality of Liloan currently serves 3,306 YAKAP beneficiaries, this collaborative onboarding project is set to drastically expand that reach. Driven by Visayan Electric’s pro-consumer advocacy, the program targets the enrollment of 25,000 additional residents, ensuring more families have reliable and accessible primary healthcare.
“By leveraging CareTech Health’s digital platform for seamless registration and health profiling, we are making healthcare onboarding significantly easier and more comprehensive for the families we serve. Coupled with targeted community engagements, this initiative reflects Visayan Electric's commitment to empowering our consumers well beyond providing reliable power,” said Nino Cerrado, Visayan Electric Community Relations Manager.
The ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was attended by key stakeholders and executives, including Liloan Municipal Mayor Aljew Frasco, marking a significant milestone in Visayan Electric's broader mission to uplift the lives of its consumers well beyond providing reliable power.
